Nashville recording artist Celeste Kellogg, along with former Radio Disney partner Tyler Layne and four other up-and-coming recording artist, will be in Pineville on Aug. 9 and 10 for their Country Pop Rock Tour. The event is being promoted by concert promoter Lee Wilson.
The group will hold two small concerts at two schools in the Bell County School District on Aug. 9 and then host a red carpet event at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 at the Bell Theater . There will be a meet and greet at the events. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. following the red carpet event.
Each of the artist will be performing separately. The headliners will both have 30 minute performances.
Tickets are on sale and the first 20 kids to buy tickets will get to walk the red carpet with the artist. The two headliners for the show are Kellogg and Layne. The other four artist include: Tristan Blaine, Riley Roth, Dalton Cyr and Branden Mendoza.
Tickets can be purchased on the event’s facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/CPRTour or http://www.celestekellogg.com under the CPR Tour tab.
This event will kick off a concert series where the talented young group will perform at 17 venues in 11 days, according to Wilson. The object of the tour is to give up-and-coming teen artist a chance to reach out to communities and schools to speak out against bullying.
“Bullying is a really serious issue,” said Kellogg in a telephone interview. “This means a lot to me because bullying is not just a physical problem. People get bullied online all the time.”
Kellogg said she has been bullied several times online. Kellogg wants to get the message across that kids do not have to answer to bullies. She wants to teach kids that to just be themselves.
Kellogg said she wants kids to be confident. “The bullies are the ones who are insecure,” said Kellogg.
During the red carpet events, Kellogg, Layne and the other artist will be taking about anti-bullying. “We are trying to help kids like us,” said Kellogg.
