William Wesley Wilder was set to appear in front of a jury Thursday morning in the Bell County Circuit Court. The trial was continued until 9 a.m. on Aug. 2. Reasoning behind the postponement was not disclosed.
Wilder, 41 of London, was charged with first-degree rape (victim under 12 years of age), first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy (victim under 12), first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse (victim under 12), and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
Each charged was issued following an investigation after being arrested on a bench warrant by Kentucky State Police Trooper Brian Greene.
In other circuit court news, Charles William Farmer, 62 of Middlesboro, was in court on Thursday for a pre-trial conference. The conference was continued until Sept. 17 because Farmer’s original attorney left the case and a new attorney is taking over the case.
Farmer was arrested by the Middlesboro Police Department on Nov. 11 and charged with 25 counts of possession of matter portraying sex performance by a minor. Farmer allegedly possessed multiple pornographic images of children on his iPhone and a second phone.
