Betty Jean Campbell Rowlett, 81, crossed over to meet her Savior Wednesday, July 25, 2012.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ewing, Virginia. She was a dedicated wife, devoted mother and grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Curtis Rowlett; her parents, Taylor and Annie Marcum Campbell; and four brothers, Henry, Calvin “Tom”, Joe, and Armour Campbell.
Surviving are: her children, Ginger (Terry) Rummel of Knoxville, Tenn., Edward (Margaret) Rowlett of Harrogate, Tenn. and Fredrick (Betty) Rowlett of Abingdon, Va.; granchildern, Reeve (Kristi) Rummel, Brandon (Sheila) Rummel, Amy (Jeremy) McAmis, Levi Rowlett, and Jedidiah (Whitney) Rowlett; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Chloe, Ethan, Chesney, and Houston Rummel, Zoe McAmis, and Taylor Rowlett; brother, George (Mabel) Campbell; sisters, Vivian Seale, Jewell (Claude) Glass, Thelma (Victor) Harber, and Zelma (Bob) Neal; sister-in-laws, Phyllis (Bill) Brown, Margie (Melvin) Tate, and Betty Campbell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Rose Hill, Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Wade officiating.
Burial will follow in the Leftwich-Edds Cemetery in Ewing, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Reeve Rummel, Brandon Rummel, Aaron Rummel, Levi Rowlett, Jedidiah Rowlett, and Jeremy McAmis.
