“Mondays R Murder” is a monthly book club for mystery lovers that will begin its second season on Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Middlesborough-Bell County Public Library.

At this kick-off session participants will be watching a movie — a powerful, thought-provoking drama that takes place in a jury room on a hot summer’s day in the 1950’s. Discussion will follow.

To register for the book club drop by the library, which is located on the corner of 20th Street and Chester Avenue, or call 248-4812.

Dates for Mondays R. Murder programs and the books that will be discussed are:

Sept. 17 — “Die for You” by Lisa Unger, a fast-paced, mystery/thriller with a touch of international intrigue.

Oct. 8 — China Bayles Mystery Series by Susan Wittig-Albert. Participants can choose which one of these mysteries to read. Then at the meeting everyone will play a game in addition to a discussion about the characters and plots of this book series.

Nov 12 — Amish Crime Thriller Series by Linda Castillo. Beware: these are not cozy mysteries. Choose one of the first three books in this series to read: “Sworn to Silence”, “Pray for Silence”, or “Breaking Silence”.

Dec. 10 — Bed & Breakfast Series by Mary Daheim

Jan. 7 — Mystery movie

Feb. 4 — Sheriff Bo Tully mysteries by Patrick F. McManus

March 1 — “Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie” by Alan Bradley
