Downtown Middlesboro has new banners. The colorful banner pictured to the left hangs along street signs from 12th to 30th Street.
The banners pictured to the right have the symbolic crest of the Alexander Arthur family.The Arthur family motto is printed below the crest in Latin. The meaning of the Latin phrase is “do and hope.” The motto is also used for the city of Middlesboro.
The banners were supplied by Downtown Decorating Inc., from Syracuse, New York, and paid for with coal severance money. The project was started by former Discover Downtown Middlesboro Director Casey Thomas.
