First Christian Church, Middlesboro, will be in revival Aug. 22-26.

The New Life Revival services will begin at 7 p.m. nightly Wednesday through Friday and at 11 a.m. Sunday and will be held in the church sanctuary. On Saturday, the church will be hosting Jesus Jam 2012, featuring the ministry and music of Level Ground, at 7 p.m. on the city parking lot in downtown Middlesboro.

Level Ground is a Christian Rock band based out of London. The band was originally formed to lead the worship for the Celebrate Recovery program at Hawk Creek Baptist church in 2008. However, since that time it has become more than just a band to it’s members, it is a ministry and a calling that each one takes seriously and enjoys. Making music with the message that the ground at the foot of the cross is level … that we are all equal at that one place.

The group, whose sound has been compared to Rush Of Fools, Building 429, David Crowder Band and Chris Tomlin, has had the fortune of playing with such bands as Todd Agnew, Seventh Day Slumber, Johnny Diaz and Rush of Fools.

Special music for the other services will be feature guest musician Glenn Toney of London, the the music staff of First Christian Church and others.

In addition to the concert, First Christian Church will also be providing a complimentary cookout (hot dogs, hamburgers and ice cream) at 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church. A complimentary breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. Sunday.

On Friday, there will be a drawing for food gift cards (you must be present to win). Some tickets have already been distributed, but they will also be distributed each night at the church during the revival.

At the concert Saturday, the first 100 students from Lincoln Memorial University and Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College showing their student ID’s will receive a free care package.

First Christian Church is located on the corner of 22nd Street and Cumberland Avenue in Middlesboro. For more information call the church office at 248-2517.
