MIDDLESBORO — A routine traffic stop on Wednesday led to a driving under the influence arrest for Middlesboro Police Department’s Sgt. Wade Barnett. According to Barnett, the allegedly intoxicated driver, 31-year-old William Thomas Poston, displayed the actions and mannerisms of a methamphetamine (meth) user. After questioning Poston regarding the possible meth use, assisting officers went to Poston’s residence to investigate.

Officers Barry Cowan and Floyd Patterson arrived at double wide modular home located on 106 Stone Creek, in the Noetown area of Middlesboro, Wednesday evening, and spoke with the home’s occupants. Officers were given permission to enter and search the residence regarding their suspicions of meth. Once inside, Cowan and Patterson determined that the trailer was housing an active meth lab and various meth paraphernalia.

Three adults — 44-year-old Ricky Partin, 38-year-old Carla Hall and 40-year-old Teresa Partin — were placed under arrest and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Two small children were also escorted from the home and neighbors were notified of the officers’ discovery for their protection.

Lt. Mike Hensley, Lt. David Buis, Sgt. Tom Busic and Sgt. Ben Spurlock — who are all specially trained officers to disassemble a meth lab — were called to the scene to begin cleaning up the residence. The team of four worked for several hours to separate and remove the items from Poston’s residence used to manufacture meth. In the end, law enforcement contacted a disposal crew to carry away and properly dispose of the hazardous materials.

Poston is lodged in the Bell County Detention Center. He is charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, driving on a suspended license, second offense and manufacturing methamphetamine. A $5,000 cash bond was issued for Poston’s meth charge, in addition to the $500 cash bond set for Poston for driving under the influence.

Teresa and Ricky Partin also remain in the Bell County Detention Center, each charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Their bond was set for $2,500 cash.

Carla Hall faces two counts of fourth degree wanton endangerment, by permitting a controlled substance to endanger the welfare of her minor children. She, too, faces manufacturing methamphetamine charges. Hall’s bond is listed at $2,500 cash.

This incident is under investigation by Officer Cowan. Cowan believes that additional charges will be made as this case begins to unravel.

Anyone with knowledge of illegal drug activity is asked to contact Detective Joe Holder at (606) 248-3636. Callers may remain anonymous.

can talk when your treated like my mother. Dont worry about my poor mother i see after her.

I'd say I hope you never have a stroke an are paralized an in bad pain but some day you may be just like my mother. An i hope if you are that you will have somebody who will take up for you if your treated like my mother was.

An i hope your never treated that way . you could be in the same shape my mother is someday. Alot of the same people who treated my mother badly could be the same way some day. so its easy to talk till your in my mother's sitution. i hope you never have a stroke. so i will keep on keeping on keeping it real. For my mother an taking up for her till the end. For the people who don't like it come an talk to me about it. . Which most agree with me... Its just a few for who worry more about their jobs than they do residents of a nursing home. It would be nice to hear you take up for residents instead of worring about you self.

Most people agree with me on the situation with my mother have not had anyone who doesn't agree.

God will see my mother thru i know he is our friend. So say what you want the facts are that it did happen. My mother is better now an taken care of an i have a lot less stress on me

knowing she is taking care of.

Glad i got her out when i did she would be dead if i hadn't got her out of there.

I had her on the list to get her in the nursing home she is in now. They are great to her treat her like a human being They give her meds to her. imagine that. O yeah they turn her every 2 hours what a concept.

They give her a bath every day you should try that every day . giving them a bath. yeah they take her to church , they treat her the way you at sunbridge should have treated her. something you are lacking.

i will say if it wasnt for some down there who are my friends they help to keep the others in line.

Report abuse to the TN State Dept of Health. Report abuse to THE COMPLAINT LINE IN NASHVILLE.

Report ABUSE to your local Ombudsman. ETHRA.

When you walk in my mothers shoes an laying on your back an being abused than you can comment.

You lay in pain an can't get no help see how you feel. you have no ideal what its like when your verbally abused when you laying on your back with a stroke an can't do anything but take it. things aren't as simple when you in a nursing home. i could not take her home or i would have she was to bad. so when your faced with that you can comment.

so i dont want to hear your crap. CARLA HALL wasnt wonderful to my mother . not saying all was like her. some were worse.iam taking up for my mother who was helpless an if you all don't like it so be it. i know what went on. no lie here the truth hurts an it will hurt more . GOD IS THE JUDGE. An i dont think GOD LIKES THE ELDERLY NEGLECTED. as far as money that has nothing to do with it i hope for not a dollar just justice for my mother. she didnt desearve to be treated the way she was its was not only carla you know who you were. so your right GOD knows . An i'll always fight for my mother an

hope if OTHER mother's gets in shape mine has i would hope they would visit them an fight for them. say what you will but the truth always comes out .

JJ from Middlesboro

First of all I agree with "god is the judge" in God's eyes telling a lie and cheating is just as bad as making meth. The nursing home in the comment section is an excellent facility and alot of good people are there. No one there would ever stand for any abuse of any kind to go on. Carla Hall was a wonderful nurse and a kind person. Everyone falls at times, but you don't kick them when they are down. Rogers61 is a coward and a liar. From what I have heard he is more of a criminal than Carla ever could be. Anyone that would use his poor Mother to get money out of a facility that took excellent care of her is nothing but a low life A-hole. You need to look at yourself before trying to judge Carla, because can't hold a candle to her and you know it. You need to get your facts straight before you run your mouth, You also need to learn to spell.

For all of you that is downing and critizing Caral Hall, first of all step back and take a look at your own life. We are all sinners and we all must repent before god. Atleast carla went to school to be a nurse and she didnt sit on her ass and draw welfare and food stamps like most americans do. Making meth is just as bad as telling a lie in gods eyes. One sin is no worse than another sin. So what she fell in with the wrong crowd and she got caught. she will be judged and she will pay in the courts for what she has done. so dont worry about carlas mistakes worry about your own. and back OFF !!!!!

Carla did work at Sunbridge, but has Sunbridge and the Board Of Nursing (Tennessee) confirmed that she abused and or neglected any residents. Furthermore, Has a medical review board, made any assessment to determine that the term stroke CVA, was actually caused by a resident not getting pain meds? Nursing homes usually operate either on three shifts or two shifts, therefore other nurses would have to be assigned to care for residents, I don't clearly understand the statements made by rogers61.What Carla done was wrong and I don't agree with "meth", but I have to say there are some fine nurses at Sunbridge and I don't feel that any nurse would turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to another nurse abusing or neglecting a resident, I also have to agree with taterbug, If a family member complains about abuse and fails to move their loved one to another facility, then they are just as guilty, After all, isn't Sunbridge one of the few places that will accept residents that no one else can care for or deal with.

I'm not saying that what she done was excusable by no means and she does need to be punished for what she done around the children but you know GOD said forgive and forget. And to me if i thought my mothr was being abused at a nursing home i wouldnt have left her there to me your just as GUILTY as the one your ACCUSSING!!!!!

Carla Hall was a very good nurse that never neglected her residents for any reason, she fell into the wrong hands at the wrong time, some people should worry about what they do wrong in their lifetime instead of worry about others actions, besides sueing everyone you know in order to make your living is'nt exactly the most honest way to be either!!!!!!!!
