Labor Day celebrations

Tri-state area residents celebrated Labor Day with family cookouts, some attended the annual celebration hosted by the city of Harrogate, Tenn., and still others labored. Harrogate’s celebration, which was held at the city park, began at 3 p.m. with a walk honoring Casey Pannocchia, who died from Juvenile Myositis. There was also several activities and inflatables for the children to enjoy while adults were entertained with music. Food for the event was provided by the Cumberland Gap High School Booster Club. Those laboring on Labor Day included Etta Cloud and Leslie Tigue who cooked ribs this weekend at the Middlesboro Kroger’s for those who wanted some barbecue, but not the labor.
