Mary Frances Dunn, 86 of Middlesboro, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her children on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012.
She was born Dec. 25, 1925 in Crawford, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late Otis V. and Margaret Bargo Stacy. She was a longtime member of the Riverside Baptist Church until she joined the Old Yellow Creek Baptist Church was she was currently attending. She had worked as an LPN at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Sim Dunn Sr.; one son: John Samuel Dunnl two sisters: Katherine Shoemaker and Bobby Jean Stacy; two brothers: Harold and Herbert Stacy; and one grandson: Kevin Ray Dunn.
She is survived by the following members of her family: five children: Sim (Barbara) Dunn Jr. of Cumberland Gap, Tenn., Joe Ann (Chester) Price of Middlesboro, Donald Ray (Betty) Dunn of Middlesboro, Judy Gulley of Middlesboro, and David L. (Patricia) Dunn of New Tazewell, Tenn.; one brother: Bill (Flora) Stacy of Ocala, Fla.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Monday Sept. 10, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Greene and William Campbell presiding. Music was provided Paige Campbell.
Graveside services will be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Stewart Cemetery at Flat Lick. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the Creech Funeral Home.
