Walter Lee Madon, age 94 of Pineville, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at the Barbourville Nursing Home.

He was born in Bell County on June 22, 1918, and was the son of the late Edward and Bertha Fuson Madon. Walter was a World War II Veteran having served in the United States Army as an infantryman. He worked as a carpenter by trade and his hobbies were hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Walter Lee Madon Jr.; sisters, Meda Hendrickson, Effie Alley, Ruth Alley and Janice Broyles; brothers, Verlin Madon, Austin Madon, Fuson Baker, John Baker Jr. and Bill Baker.

Walter is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and a very special friend, Andy Williams.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Rev. Ellis Hugh Hoskins and the Rev. Paul Gibson presiding. Burial will follow in the Fuson Chapel Cemetery at Little Clear Creek with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Madon family. Light a virtual candle and sign the guestbook at www.arnettsteele.com.
