The Middlesboro High School boy’s golf team improved to 34-8 on the year with a victory over Lee High, Va., Tuesday.

The Jackets shot a team total of 166, while Lee High posted a 185.

Middlesboro was led by Michael Wilson with a 39. Eric Francis and Micah Robbins each posted 41 and J.P. Maiden shot 45. Also competing for the Jackets was Luke Boyd who shot 46.

The Generals were led by Taylor Livesay’s 40, while Sam Scott carded a 42.

“This was a good win for us today, anytime you can go on the road and shoot a decent score that says something for your team. Mike was again very solid for us, as he has been all year long.” said coach Greg Lasley.

Middlesboro returns to action next Tuesday as they travel to Manchester to play Clay County and Pulaski County. Next Thursday, the Jackets will play in the Tri-County conference tournament, before heading to the regional tournament Sept. 25.
