Kathy Gail O’Quinn Smith, age 49 of Pineville, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

Born in Madison Heights, Mich., on Jan. 1, 1963, she was the daughter of Bascom Jerry and Jewell Foster O’Quinn. She was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Ferndale, Mich., and had been a homemaker.

Preceding her in death was her brother, Jerry Wayne O’Quinn; uncle, Sammy Foister; and aunts, Viola Goodin and Kathryn Mills.

Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Ernie Smith of Pineville; parents, Jerry and Jewell O’Quinn; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Foster and the Rev. Ted Collins presiding. Music will be by Larry and Debbie Green and Adrianne Mason.

Burial will follow in the Pine Lawn Cemetery at East Pineville. Pallbearers are Ron Blevins, Ryan Blevins, Ricky Goodin Jr. Bowling, Timmy Foster and Cody Carnes. Honorary pallbearers will be her three uncles, Jimmy Foister, Jack Foister and Fred Foister.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Smith family. Light a virtual candle and sign the guestbook at www.arnettsteele.com.
