Guynith Ester (Denny) Hawkins, 93, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital

Guynith was born July 7, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Lula Belle Denny at Crofton, Christian County. Her whole life was devoted to being a mother to her seven living children. Despite the many tragedies and hardships in her life they never crushed her spirit. They never stopped her loving hands and tender heart from reaching out to her children. She had a spirit about her that was as bright as the sun and warmed all who come in contact with her. She was the last of her generation in a family of 11 children. She loved to quilt, cook, sing, and read her bible. Above all things she was a wonderful wife, precious mother and granny to seven children, 27 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted Christian of the Holiness faith with her eyes set on heaven. She loved children, which symbolizes more than anything else the essence of her love and character. One of her hopes was to wake up and find a baby on her doorsteps. She will be greatly missed by her family that she was so devoted to.

Preceding her in death were her first husband, Clendell, father of Cludies; Albert, the father of her other six children; one daughter, Nancy Louise; sisters, Victrine Sharp (Charley), Bonnie Hall (Jim), and Phyllis Baler (Delmer); and seven brothers, Charles, Ralph (Elizabeth), James (Clara), Geither (Josie Lee), Gillis (Joyce), Bronco Bill (Reba), Andrew Jackson Jr.; grandson, Curtis Albert; and great-granddaughters, Tabitha Faye and Gracie Belle Ray; daughter-in-law, Betty Hawkins; son-in-law Curt Hunley,

She is survived by seven children, Cludies Robbins (Mary) of North Richland Hills, Texas, Albert (Buddy) Hawkins of Middlesboro, William Hawkins (Yuvonna) of Lynchburg, Va., Fay Hunley of Middlesboro, Charlotte Cobb (Carl) of Middlesboro, Jake Hawkins (significant other, Jenny) of Middlesboro and Bonnie Branham (John) of Middlesboro.
