Janie Griffin Walters, age 69 of Pineville, passed away on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Pineville Community Hospital.

She was born in Harlan on Jan. 13, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Willie and Grace Robbins Griffin. She believed in the Pentecostal faith and had been an elementary school teacher at Ross Point, Wallins and Cawood Elementary Schools.

Survivors include her children, Rhonda Gail Walters and fiancé James Caddell and Brian K. Walters; grandsons, Tanner and Tucker Walters; brothers and their wives, Howard and Alma Griffin, Harold and Wanda Griffin and Billy and Sylvia Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Patterson and the Rev. Charles Adkins presiding. Music will be by James Caddell and Gail Adkins.

Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Harlan, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Walters Family. Light a virtual candle and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
