Frances A. Sifton, age 87 of Middlesboro, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
She was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Smithfield, Penn., and was the daughter of the late Brant and Azelma Rohrer Davis.
Mrs. Sifton was a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church in Middlesboro. She, along with her late husband Will, had owned and operated the Western Sizzlin Steak House for a number of years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Will Sifton; and one sister, Rose Marie Bradley.
She is survived by the following members of her family: three children, Karen (Roger Hornsby) Sifton of Bowdon, Ga., Peggy (Don) Miracle of Middlesboro, and Bill (Teresa) Sifton of Middlesboro; grandchildren, Mark (Robin) Buis, David (Gwen) Buis, Arianna (Jack) Hudnall, Gareth Hornsby, Tonya Southern and Rebecca (Josh) Yeary; ten great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Covenant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Stoneburner presiding.
Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Creech Funeral Home.
