Middlesboro senior Eric Francis chips onto a green during his round at last week's state tournament in Bowling Green. Though he wasn't one of the 87 golfers to survive to day two, Francis represented the Jackets well at Bowling Green Country Club. West Jessamine's Fred Allen Meyer won the tournament, defeating St. Mary's Joey Mayo on the second hole of a sudden death playoff. The top finisher from this area was Clay County's Tyler McDaniel with a two-day total of 147 to tie for fifth place.
