Janie Marie Barnwell White, 102 of Pineville, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at her daughter’s home. She was born in Shawanee, Tenn. on October 10, 1910, a daughter of the late Charles and Tennie Wilson Barnwell. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Pineville and had been a seamstress and dress shop Clerk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John White; brothers and sisters, George Barnwell, Hubert Barnwell, Tom Barnwell, Edward Barnwell, Ella Lee Warren, Mossie Yorkin, Clara Isaacs and Dora Wyrick.
Survivors include her children, Mayme Greene of Lilburn, Ga.; Betty Fulkerson and husband Charles of Louisville, Ky.; John C. White and wife, Martha of Cincinnati, Ohio and Yolanda Green and husband, Butch of Pineville; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Birtie Barnwell and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Victor Greene. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Clark Green, Brian Wilburn, Tom Marlow, Mike White and Christopher White.
