Bessie Louise Patterson, 87, former resident of Middlesboro, passed peacefully into the Loving Arms of her Lord on November 17, 2012 in Knoxville, Tenn.. Bessie was born on December 21,1924 to the late Daniel Edward Marsee and Maggie Browning Marsee.

Bessie was a hard worker, a loving mother, grandmother & devoted member of Binghamton Baptist Church for over 60 years. She loved her pastors, her Sunday school class & helping out with the Vacation Bible School snacks. She loved to make people laugh and always had a funny joke to tell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Patterson; her two sons, Dennis & Gary Patterson; & all of her 12 brothers & sisters.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Brenda Patterson; her sisters, Lynedia Gregg and Barbara Meyer of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Amanda and Daniel Harris of Johnson City, Tenn., Dr. Travis & Amy Patterson of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Millie & Ray York of Lebanon, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Travis Isaac, Isaiah, Eli & Madeline Patterson, Hunter & Noah York; one sister-in-law, June Marsee, of Greencastle, Indiana. Bessie is also survived by a host of wonderful, loving nieces & nephews & their families.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Creech Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor William Boyd Bingham III at 1:30 p.m. Graveside service will follow at the Middlesboro Cemetery.

Creech Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
