MIDDLESBORO — Martha Wilder, 86, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Born August 9, 1922, in Bell County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Hurst and Mary Jane Robbins Hurst. She believed in the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Wilder; one sister, Ethel Hurst Howard; seven brothers, Oliver, Helim, Henry, Noah, Condy, Johnny, and Curtis Wilder; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Susan Lynn Wilder.

Survivors include three sons, Hollis, Kenneth, and Roger Wilder; one daughter, Martha Anita Jones; grandchildren: Adam Clay Wilder, Jennifer Lynn Norton, Rebecca Garland, Amanda Blevins, Kelly Wilder, and Robbie Wilder; three brothers, Elmer, Glen, and Lee Hurst; one sister, Wilma Jean Collins; great-grandchildren, Keisha Wilder, James Whalen Blevins, Miranda Blevins, Andrea and Abigail Blevins, Kaitlyn Garland and Michael Norton; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Heck and the Rev. Doug Heaton officiating.

Entombment will be at Green Hills Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
