A Pineville man pleaded guilty on burglary charges in Bell Circuit Court on Thursday.

Van E. Derossett, 25, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of third-degree burglary.

According to the plea agreement, Derossett entered two homes and an out building with the intent to commit a crime in November 2011.

Commonwealth Attorney Karen Greene Blondell recommended 10 years in the penitentiary for the second-degree burglary charges and five years in the penitentiary for the third-degree charge. Blondell recommended the sentences run concurrently.

Blondell also recommended Derossett pay restitution to one victim in the amount of $4,480 and pay the second victim $150.

Tammy Michele Givens, 39 of Middlesboro, also pleaded guilty in open court on Thursday. Givens pleaded guilty to second-degree complicity to commit burglary, second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor.

According to the plea agreement, Givens aided, counseled or attempted to aid a minor in committing a burglary. Givens did this by unlawfully entering a home with the intent to commit a crime.

The agreement also stated she assisted a minor to engage in illegal controlled substances while charged with the care and custody of a 4-year-old.

Blondell recommended five years in the penitentiary for the burglary and unlawful transaction charge. She recommended 12 months in the Bell County Jail for endangering the welfare of a minor. She recommended the the sentences run concurrently.
