Staff Report

The Middlesboro Post Office will be holding a toy drive to assist those in need.

“I encourage everyone to donate a toy,” said John Day of the post office.

Day stated all toys donated need to be new and unwrapped. Those wanting to participate may drop off toys at the post office. Participants may also give the toy to their mail carrier.

The deadline to donate toys is Dec. 15. All toys donated will be given to Cooperative Christian Ministries (CCM), who will distribute the toys locally.

Day said this is the first time they have done a toy drive. He stated CCM asked if they would do the toy drive and they agreed. Day stated they wanted to expand the out into the community.

Day said each year the post office does a food drive for the community. The food drive takes place in May. Two years ago 500 pounds of food was donated.
