Elsie Smith Rutherford, 75 of Dorton Branch, passed away December 11, 2012 at Saint Joes Main, Hospice in Lexington, Ky. She was born March 10, 1937 to the late Andrew and Noda Smith Jackson. She had worked in housekeeping at Pineville Community Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands Garrett Smith and Bobby Rutherford; daughter, Martha Whitehead; granddaughter, Crystal North; sister, Nancy Harris.

Survivors include her children, Birdie Holman and fiancé Billy Washam of Dorton Branch; son, Gary Smith of Pineville; grandchildren, Eric Washam, Jeff Washam, Heath Washam, Tim Smith, Jason Smith, Jeremy Smith, Travis Smith and J.B Napier; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday December 15, 2012 at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Jackson and Rev. Eric Jordan. Burial will be Hickory Flats Cemetery, Dorton Branch, KY.
