The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is almost ready to open their doors. Green Hills is located at 31 Hurst Road, at the Binghamtown four-way stop in Middlesboro.
There are plans to hold the ribbon cutting ceremony on Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. followed by an open house from 1-6 p.m. and from 2-5 p.m. on Feb. 2 and Feb. 3, respectively.
Melissa Yeary, manager and funeral director, is originally from the Bell County area and is honored to be back to serve her hometown. Yeary is one of the investors in Green Hills and explained the goal in building the funeral home was to help Bell County residents feel at home during their time in need.
“We are here to provide the customers with compassion and understanding as well as affordability,” said Yeary. “We realize that cost is a major factor and with this is mind we want to assure you that our prices will meet your budget.”
Green Hills can assist clients with all aspects of the funeral service as well as helping lodge out-of-town loved ones.
The outside of the funeral home is covered by a canopy so visitors do not have to worry about weather being an issue. Visitors can drive up and drop off their family before parking their car. Once they are parked, they will be driven back to the front entrance in a covered golf cart.
The parking lot is handicap accessible.
The modern funeral home features two seating areas located just inside the front entrance. These areas are equipped with comfortable seating, a fireplace and large televisions where loved ones can relax and watch the televisions as they show photos of the lost.
Green Hills also features a play room for children. The room features a desk for children to play at as well as a television and DVD player.
