ROCK HILL, S.C. — Lincoln Memorial University junior forward Vincent Bailey (Jennings, Fla.) has been named a co-recipient of the South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award along with with Tusculum’s Keith Jumper, the league office announced Tuesday. Bailey was also named the Railsplitter of the Week on Monday morning for his efforts on the court this past week.

Bailey tallied a pair of double-double performances to lead the Railsplitters to two victories in conference play this past week. The big man’s opening act came on Wednesday as he led the ‘Splitters to a 75-51 win over Brevard College in Tex Turner Arena with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Bailey hit 8-of-10 shots from the floor while adding an assist, a steal and a block in the victory over the Tornados.

On Saturday Bailey closed out the week by putting up 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in LMU’s 82-72 overtime victory at Lenoir-Rhyne. He made seven of his 12 attempts in that one while adding a block and an assist.

The 6-6 junior ranks 14th in the SAC in scoring (13.0 per), third in rebounding (9 per) and seventh in field-goal percentage (55.2 percent). With two consecutive double-double outings, Bailey pushed his total to six in the 2012-13 campaign, which places him in the top-30 in all of the NCAA Division II in total double-doubles this season.

Bailey is the second member of the Lincoln Memorial University men’s basketball team to earn South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week honors this season, as Wally Jones garnered that distinction back on Dec. 17th.
