KSP seeks applicants for citizens police academy

Kentucky State Police Post 10 is accepting applications for the 2013 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 10-week academy is slated to begin on March 4 and conclude May 13.

Students will meet Mondays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to learn about the many aspects of the state police including patrol, criminal investigations and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated law enforcement training during the course.

The 10-week academy, plus the graduation, will be held at Barbourville High School located off of North Main Street in Barbourville.

Applications can be obtained by contacting KSP Post 10 at 606-573-3131.

Anyone 18 years of age living within Post 10’s district is welcome to apply.

There is no cost to attend. Class size will be limited to the first 20 approved applications.
