Head-on collision on narrow road sends 8 to hospital

MIDDLESBORO — A head-on collision between two cars Tuesday night sent all eight occupants of the vehicles to Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital (MARH).

According to Middlesboro Police Department Lt. Tom Busic, MPD received a call at 6:18 p.m. requesting a response to a head-on collision on the narrow 46th Street in Middlesboro.

A 1994 Mercury, carrying four adults, traveling South on 46th Street collided head-on with a 1998 Buick car, also carrying four adults.

The Mercury was driven by Linda Garren, the driver of the Buick was Lorean Greene. Ambulances were called and all eight occupants involved in the crash were sent to MARH complaining of neck and back injuries.

Lt. Busic said the collision was likely not a high speed crash. The conditions of those involved was not available.
