The Claiborne Animal Shelter was granted possession of all the animals seized over the weekend in an agreed order signed by Honorable Judge Robert Estep in Claiborne County General Sessions Court on Tuesday.

Charlie L. Gregory and Taniciah Little were present in court on Tuesday and in an agreement they surrendered all 134 animals to the Claiborne Animal Shelter.

Both defendants were granted signature bonds upon release of the animals.

The agreed order stipulated the defendants “hereby surrender all of his/her ownership interest in the animals seized by the Tazewell Police Department to the Claiborne Animal Shelter. The Claiborne Animal Shelter shall be allowed to dispose of said animals as they desire. Defendant shall be allowed to sign his bond in the matter. All other property seized from the Defendant shall be returned to him.”

The Claiborne Animal Shelter Executive Board will meet this week to decide the disposition of the animals, including 100 chickens, 18 rabbits and nine peacocks.

The puppies will placed up for adoption in the near future.
