The Claiborne Animal Shelter Executive Board has met to decide how to handle an ongoing situation involving 134 animals involved in a weekend traffic stop involving Charlie L. Gregory, of Pineville and Taniciah Little, of Andersonville, Tenn.

The board has decided to sell part of the animals they were granted possession of earlier this week.

As of 10 a.m. today, the chickens and rabbits seized will be on sale and the puppies up for adoption.

All of the animals involved have temporary homes at the Claiborne County Animal Shelter.

Gregory signed over rights of the seven dogs to the the shelter, while the other animals remained in the shelter’s custody until Gregory and Little appeared in court on Tuesday. At this time, the shelter acquired right to the animals after General Sessions Judge Robert Estep granted signature bonds upon release of the animals.

For more information, call the shelter at (423) 626-2686.
