Middlesboro’s newest business, Red Balloon Celebrations, opened in the Village Square Shopping Center on Friday.
Proud business owners, Tim and Tracy Baker, are Middlesboro residents as well as husband and wife. Upon arrival, customers were welcomed by the couple with a free red balloon as a way to express their thanks for celebrating with them on their special day.
The Bakers decided to open the store after they had a difficult time finding party supplies for their 2-year-old daughter.
“We have a child and when we went to have her birthday, we couldn’t find anything (for her party),” explained Tracy. “We saw the need, so we decided to go ahead and just do it.”
Red Balloon offers a wide variety of party supplies. They have everything from greeting cards to basic party decorations such as coordinating napkins, plates and balloons as well new, unique party items such as specialty baking cups.
These specialty baking cups make a less messy but more decorative cupcake for any kind of party. All you have to do is pull the corners of the baking cup and it opens right up without the typical mess that accompanies cupcakes.
Red Balloon’s party supplies are competitively priced.
“We tried to be fair and think about the people of Middlesboro and what they were looking for,” said Tracy.
