Lewis Allen Rodgers, age 78, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Tender Care Rehab in Taylor, MI. He was born July 3, 1934 in Fork Ridge, TN, the son of Murphy and Axie Rose Rodgers. He was employed by O. L. Anderson Company of Detroit,Michigan,for 28 years as a journeyman dye maker. He was a Medic in the U.S. Army and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Detroit, MI. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Donald Rodgers.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Turner Rodgers; sons, Lewis G. (Jenette) Rodgers, Seviereville, TN, Kenneth L. (Kathy) Rodgers, Redford, MI, one grandson, Adam Rodgers; sisters, Lois Ledford, Taylor, MI, Betty Johnson, Atlanta, MI, Bobby Burns, Auburn, IN, Carolyn Ausmus, Harrogate, TN, Margaret Sivils, Speedwell, TN; brothers, Edmond Rodgers, Speedwell, TN, Edward Pat Rodgers, Middlesboro, KY; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be held, Friday, March 8, 2013 at 8 p.m. at the Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Murphy Buell officiating. Graveside service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
