Sharon Diann Gibson Collett, 62, of Pineville, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Pineville on June 6, 1950, and is the daughter of Paul B. and Betty Ruth Wilson Gibson. Sharon was a lifelong member of the Moss Chapel Baptist Church and had been a homemaker. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for more than twenty years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.


Survivors include her husband of over 45 years, Luther D. Collett; children, Paula R. Collett Greene, Luther Joshua Collett, and Shaynina Love Collett Gambrel and husband, Jeremy; grandchildren, Hope Nicole Greene, Faith Noel Greene, Isaiah Hunter Gambrel, Isaac McKinley Gambrel and Noah Skylar Gambrel; parents, Rev. Paul B. and Betty Gibson; brothers, Randall Bryant Gibson and wife, Trudy, and Terrell Gibson and wife Carolyn; sister, Donna Gibson Stewart and husband, Gary; special friend, Elsie Phipps; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.


Services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Greasy Creek Baptist Church with her husband, Rev. Luther Collett and her brother, Rev. Terrell Gibson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Mausoleum in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Joshua Collett, Jeremiah Gibson, Michael Shane Stewart, Jeremy Gambrel and Jarrod Gambrel.


The family suggests donations in Sharon’s memory please be made to the Girl Scout’s of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road council at 2277 Executive Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40505 or at www.gskentucky.org.


The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Collett family. Light a virtual candle and sign the guestbook at www.arnettsteele.com.
