Bell County junior guard Morgan Garnett has been selected to the 13th Region junior All-Star team. They will be playing against a team of 12th Region All-Stars on Saturday at Asbury College. The game will tip off at 1 p.m. and will be followed by a senior All-Star game at 2:30 p.m.

“Morgan being selected to participate on the 13th Region junior All-Star team is definitely an honor that she deserves. She works hard and it is an accomplishment that she has earned. She will represent her school, her team and herself well,” said Lady Cat coach David Teague.

Garnett played a big role in helping the Lady Cats to a 27-6 record, the 52nd district championship and 13th Region runner-up finish. She started every game and averaged 10 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game. She also shot 39-percent from 3-point range and hit 71-percent of her free throws on the season. Garnett was recently named second team all-region by the 13th Region Coaches Association.

“Morgan was a vital part to our season this past year. She contributed in numerous ways in order to help our basketball team. She scored the ball, she defended well and was a leader on and off the court,” Teague added. “Moving forward, I look for Morgan to have a good summer for us and to have a very good senior season. Teams will key on her a lot, but I know she will put in the work needed to continue to be a big contributor for our team.”
