Mary Ellen Ables, 75, of Middlesboro, passed away Sunday, April 28, at her home. She was born September 24, 1937 in Ft. Wayne, IN, the daughter of the late Clell and Vera Mary West Fogleson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Newt Thomas Ables, 1 Brother: Edwin Augustus Fogleson, 1 Sister: Willow Jane Fogleson, 2 Grandsons: Jackie Thomas Ables and David Thomas Avant, 1 Son in law: Stacy Barnett.


She is survived by the following members of her family: 12 Children: Emma Jean Harris of Middlesboro, KY; Mary Ann (Steve) Warren of Glasgow, KY; Glenda Sue (Jerry) Exum of Flatwoods, VA; Tammy Lea (Richard) Barnett Herzog of Tazewell, TN; Joann Ables of Middlesboro; Thelma Jean (Gaino Williams) Ogle of Middlesboro, KY; Vera Ellen (Jesse) Vargas of California; Linda Kay Ables of Tennessee; Betty Jeanice (Kenneth) Long of Tennessee; Thomas Lee Ables of Middlesboro, KY; Christopher Newt (Mechelle) Ables of Middlesboro, KY and Timothy James (Ashley) Ables of Middlesboro, KY.; 1 Brother: Clell Edward (Carol) Fogleson of New Elizabeth, Wisconsin; 1 Sister: Vera Carey of Virginia; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday May 2, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Fuson presiding. Music will be provided by Judy Hensley. Interment will follow in the Cannon Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Ables, Chris Ables, Ralph Bledsoe, Jeremy Barnett, Stacy D. Barnett and Richard Herzog.
