Rev. John Ed Osban, 74, of Middlesboro, passed away Tuesday, April 30, at the Middlesboro ARH.

He was born December 19, 1938 in Bell County, KY, the son of the late Willie and Nora Brooks Osban.

Rev. John Ed had been a minister of the Gospel for 37 years. He was a member of the New Buffalo Missionary Baptist Church at Clairfield, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

He is survived by the following members of his family: His wife of 51 years: Thelma “Pelty” Osban of Middlesboro; 6 Children and their spouses: Eddie and Bonnie Osban, Teddy Osban, Freddy Osban, Rev. John C. and Ashley Osban, Debbie and Jimmy Givens and Crickett (Sierra) Osban all of Middlesboro, KY; 1 Sister: Cornie Owens; 1 Brother: Albert Osban.

He was blessed with 13 Grandchildren: Melissa and Rex Wilder, Christina and Justin Ayers, Eddie “Moose” Osban, Meranda Osban, T.C. Osban, Jacob Osban, Justin Osban, Ashley Nicole Osban, Matthew Osban, Kaitlyn Givens, Dakotah and Gracie Osban; 3 Grandsons: Gage Wilder, Maxwell Ayers and Peyton Osban.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Cox and Rev. John C. Osban presiding.

Music will be provided by Ginger Evans and Ashley P. Osban.

Interment will follow in the Yellow Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry “Gab” Barnett, Pee-Wee Barnett, Todd Helton, Justin Barton, T.C. Osban and Boomer Owens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the Creech Funeral Home. Online condolences and guestbook are available at www.creechfh.com
