PINEVILLE — A crash in Pineville Saturday morning left one dead and sent three people to the hospital.

Allegedly, a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Vanessa N. Asher, 27, of Pineville pulled out on Hwy. 25-E from KY-190 in front of a 2000 Ford Excursion driven by Arthur Carter, 34 of Calvin heading South on Hwy. 25-E. Asher was reportedly hit by the vehicle in the driver side door.

Asher was pronounced dead at the scene. Leslie Asher, 7, was also in the car and transported to Pineville Community Hospital. According to officials at the hospital, she was discharged Sunday morning.

Carter and passenger Christian Carter, 9, were transported by private vehicle to Pineville Community Hospital, but, according to the hospital, were not admitted.

Claudia Carter, 3, was also a passenger in the Excursion. Reportedly, the child was not injured and did not require medical attention.

The accident is being investigated by Kentucky State Police (KSP) Trooper Keith Baker. He is assisted in the investigation by KSP Lt. P.J. Burnett. Assisting at the scene were the Bell Co. Sheriff’s Office, Bell Co. EMS and Rescue Squad, and the Bell Co. Coroner’s Office.
