Kendall Ferguson pitched all five innings to get the win. He allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out one and walking two.
The Jackets put up six run in the first inning an never looked back. They led 10-2 after three and put up six more in the fourth to put the game away.
Womack’s two-run homer, his second in three games, came during a three-run second inning. He had two hits and scored three runs in the game.
Partin went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and one RBI to go along with three stolen bases. Branham was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Freshman Thomas Epperson had two hits, scored two runs and drove in one while Hunter Adams also had two hits, a run scored and a stolen base.
Eddie Gilbert and Ferguson each drove in two runs on one hit with Scott Mason and Alex Pratt also getting hits for the Jackets.
Middlesboro (15-6) will host Williamsburg today at 5 :30 p.m. They’ll take on Harlan County Monday at 8:30 p.m. inthe opening round of the 52nd District tournament at Harlan.
Knox Central ends the regular season with a record of 8-13. They’ll play host Lynn Camp Monday at 5 p.m. in the 51st District tournament.
