On Tuesday, superintendent candidate Marion Sowders toured Middlesboro High School alongside Board Chairman Bill Johnson and Superintendent Darryl Wilder. Sowders, who was listed as one of the top five candidates to replace Wilder after his retirement, was named a Highly Skilled Educator for the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) in 2005.
The board is expected to reach a final decision before the high school’s graduation on June 5.
