EWING, Va. — Opal Sutton, 85, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009, in Lee County, Va.

Born September 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Campbell and Sarah Young. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and the Sr. Citizens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Lewis Sutton; brothers, Paul, Claude, and Sewell Young; and sisters, Ada Young, Lola Seabolt, and Nellie Brooks.

Survivors include her sisters, Oma Young and Glady Young, both of Ewing; nieces and nephews, Roger and Lois Young, Cathy and Fred Pauley, all of Rose Hill, Va., Georgia and Jerry Hurst, Harrogate, Tenn.; great-nieces and nephews, Joe Young, and his daughter, Taylor, Harrogate, Jason and Kelley Young, Apex, N.C., John and Elizabeth Young, and their daughter, Libby, Phenix City, Ala., Megan Young, Rose Hill, Jason Bowman, Harrogate; special friends, Paul and Sandy Vanover, Ewing.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Saturday at Reece Valley Chapel.

Burial in the Red Hill Chapel Cemetery.
