Soon it will be The fourth of July, Independence day, a day to celebrate. BUT it will not be a day of celebration for our family.
We are still holding out hope for the safe return of our family member, my sister, Katherine Heck who will be “MISSING” 5 months on July 4th.
Katherine was born and raised in Kentucky. She is one of 10 children born to Jesse and Clara Dennis.
She is married with three children and a grand mother. Our lives are surrounded by a large family full of love. There is not a night or day that goes by, where Katherine is not part of our thoughts or prayers.
As of today, her family still looks for her, we still search, we still ask questions. We wonder why?
If anyone has gone through this, they know the endless pain. It is as if your heart has a missing part and nothing to fill it. There have been many different stories about Katherine since the day she walked down her lane never to be seen again. But that is all they are, stories…
With the warm weather, we are hoping that some one, maybe a visitor to the state of Kentucky, or the town folk, will see, or hear or maybe even remember something that was not revealed before.
Where ever she might be, we miss her and we love her. We would greatly appreciate any information about her… anything.
We had a family reunion every year, and we would gather at Katherine’s house, we always cooked and laughed together… now we do not foresee a reunion until Kat is home.
I live in Illinois, and we have family in many of the states, Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida , Colorado, Wisconsin , Texas , Nebraska and Virginia to name a few. All of us would like to see an updated story, so maybe this will jog a memory, bring about an awareness so when people are out hiking, walking and sight seeing they will hold her picture in their mind and call with any information.
Stephen Woodward has written many stories about my sister and I read this paper, online, almost every day to see if there is any more news.
There is a bill board from southern Billboards dedicated to Katherine, and a web sight that has been established.

The whole family gives thanks to everyone who has prayed for her, looked for her and remembers her.
Katherine… we love you.
Thank you,
