Bell Circuit Court hands out more sentences

PINEVILLE — The Bell County Circuit Court recently handed down several sentencings. Individuals and their charges are compiled in the list below, as follows:

Sylvia G. Whitaker, 47, of Flat Lick, Ky., was found guilty of theft by unlawful taking or disposition over $300, a Class D felony, and persistent felony offender in the second degree, a Class C felony. Whitaker was sentenced to five years in a state penitentiary, all at a place designated by the Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release. She will receive credit for 119 days time served.

Chris Lee Hubbard, 22, of Wilson Branch, Ky., was found guilty of an amended charge of second degree robbery, a Class C felony. Hubbard was sentenced to five years in a state penitentiary, all at a place designated by the Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release. He will receive credit for 157 days time served.

Michael Wayne Goodin, Sr., 57, of Pineville was found guilty of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, a Class C felony. Goodin was sentenced to five years in a state penitentiary, all at a place designated by the Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release.

Joshua Ryan Greene, 28, of Cumberland Gap, Tenn., was found guilty of receiving stolen property over $300, a Class D felony. Greene was sentenced to three years in a state penitentiary, all at a place designated by the Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release. He will receive credit for five days time served.

Christopher Thomas Allen, 28, of Middlesboro was found guilty of trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school, a Class D felony. Allen was sentenced to two years and six months in a state penitentiary, all at a place designated by the Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release. He will receive credit for eight days time served.

Sherry L. Russell, 27, of Middlesboro was found guilty of second degree burglary, a Class C felony. Russell was sentenced to five years in a state penitentiary, all at a place designated by the Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release. She will also be required to pay restitution in the amount of $300 on behalf of the victim, Billy Flannery. Russell will receive credit for seven days time served.

Boyd Bradley Lee Lake, Jr., 19, of Middlesboro was found guilty of an amended charge of first degree criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor. Lake was sentenced to six months in the Bell County Jail and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release. He will receive credit for six days time served.

Amanda Denise Widner, 21, of Stoney Fork, Ky., was found guilty of second degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, a Class D felony. Widner was sentenced to two years in a state penitentiary, all at a place designated by the Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release.

Melissa Sue Erb, 23, of Walker, Ky., was found guilty of an amended charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition under $300, a Class A misdemeanor. Erb was sentenced to twelve months in the Bell County Jail, which will be probated and placed on unsupervised probation for a period of 24 days under certain terms and conditions. She will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release, and pay $164.88 in restitution on behalf of Wal-Mart.
