Curtis was born on May 14, 1930 in Bell Co., KY to the late Simon and Sarah Pearl Elliott. He retired from Westinghouse/ Phillip Lighting Co. and was a member of the Holiness faith. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife Jean A. Elliott of Richmond, two sons Thomas Lee (Novella) Elliott and Curtis Mikel (Janet) Elliott both of Berea, step son Darrell Wayne (Christie) Hager of Mt. Vernon, 6 siblings Joyce (Carter) Wilson of Bell Co., Shirley Taylor of Bell Co., Patsy (Don) Wells of Richmond, Carolyn (Harold) Prindle of Blanchester, OH, Ronnie (Frances) Elliott of Bell Co. and Cathy (Barry) Schuster of Amelia, OH, 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one stepson Russell Hager, one sister Emogene Elliott, one brother Jimmy Elliott and one great grandchild Kendra Johnson.
The family would like to recognize his niece Tammy Lancaster for the special care she gave to him.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday November 28, 2009 at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Oplinger and Bro. Don Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening after 6 pm at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Danny Holland, Robbie Griffin, Joe Bussell, Kyle Wilson, Orville Shanks and Ronnie Ford.
