The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for central and eastern Kentucky and is forecasting rain, then flurries. The warning is in place through late Wednesday night.
A cold front was passing through the state Wednesday morning and sustained winds up to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph were expected for several hours in its wake.
Wind speeds were expected to decrease Wednesday afternoon and evening, but sudden gusts could continue until late night.
Temperatures behind the front will tumble into the low 20s and teens by Wednesday night and there’s a slight chance of some snow mixed with the rain.
