Born May 31, 1939, at Himyar, Ky., he was a son of the late Henry Matt Gray Sr. and Dorothy Goley Gray who survives. He was a member of the Whipple Baptist Church.
In addition to his Father he was preceded in death by his grandparents, 1 niece and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Gray of Balkan; brother and best friend, Henry Matt (Ann) Gray Jr. of Cubbage; brother, Carson Grayof London; three sisters, Dora (George) Mekras of Florida, Betty (Dewey) Crawford of Louisville, and Evelyn (Phil) Johnson of Texas; special friends, Will Cheek, Kevin Wilder, Charles Shepherd, Henry Rutherford, Bugs Wilder, Steve Pendleton, Darrell Huff, Doyle Givens; his trading buddies, friends and neighbors; and all doctors and staff and Pinevillle Community Hospital who took great care of him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Creech Funeral Home with the Revs. Shelby Money and Cecil Hensley presiding.
Internment will be in the Miracle Cemetery at Balkan. Pallbearers will be Scotty Gray, Ronnie Slusher, Charles Shepherd, Milt Wilder, and Doyle Givens.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Creech Funeral Home.
