Born in Bell County on July 22, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Wilk and Emma Brock. She believed in the Holiness faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; grandchildren, Charles David Smith, Jeremy Smith and Janice Enix; niece, Nany Slusher; and brothers Jim Brock, Marlin Brock and Carter Brock.
Left to mourn her passing are her children, Odell Asher of Arjay, and Irene Smith of Pineville; brothers, Baxter Brock of Beverly, Ford Brock of Artemus, Ky., and Jim Brock Jr. of Beverly; sisters, Debbie Asher of Artemus, Ky., Opal Lee Asher of Clay County, Ky., Ruby Swallows of Beverly, and Thelma Brock of Artemus, Ky.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with the Rev. William Boyd Bingham and the Rev. James Polly presiding.
Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens at Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be her grandson, and nephews Kenny Asher, David Smith, Brandon Johnson, Cody Goodin, Dustin Goodin, Loyd Asher, Jerry Asher, Melvin Asher, Eugene Asher, David Asher and Tom Asher.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Asher Family.
