MIDDLESBORO — A fatal accident occurred on the beltline on Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Bell County Coroner Clyde Creech confirmed that Timothy Warren, 47, of Pineville was killed in the crash.

Creech also said that Warren’s wife, Lisa Warren, was driving the vehicle.

Lisa, also of Pineville, sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Middlesboro ARH, according to Middlesboro Police Department Lieutenant Tom Busic, who on the scene of the wreck.

According to police, Lisa was driving the couple’s Toyota Corolla eastbound on the beltline, lost control, and then hit an embankment next to Napier Lane. The vehicle then flipped over, killing Timothy Warren instantly.

MPD Officer Josh Pratt is investigating the accident.

MPD, Bell County Rescue Squad, and Middlesboro Fire Department were at the scene of the accident.
