Williamsburg tops Lady Lions, 61-52

The Pineville Lady Mountain Lions saw their two-game winning streak come to an end Friday night with a 61-52 loss to Williamsburg.

The Lady Lions led 15-14 after one, but Williamsburg used a 16-9 second quarter to take a 30-24 lead into the half.

Pineville cut the Lady Yellow Jacket lead to one point as they scored 19 points in the third quarter to make the score 44-43.

Williamsburg put the game away in the fourth quarter as they outscored the Lady Lions 17-9 to win by nine.

Pineville junior guard Chelsey Smith scored 28 points to lead all scorers in the game. The Lady Lions also got eight points from Lacey Brooks and seven from Victoria Knuckles.

The Lady Jackets were led by Samantha Burr and Alyssa Siler with 17 points each, while Megan Stohner added 11.

Pineville (10-14) plays at Corbin this afternoon while Williamsburg (14-11) hosts Jellico, Tenn., tonight.
