Letter To The Editor:

About the outrageous Monthly Electric Bills we have received in the past several months. Old Dominion Power Co., a subsidiary of Kentucky Utilities, put into effect a whopping 31 percent interim rate increase for residential customers. A new law recently signed by Virginia legislation temporarily suspends intrim rate increases by the Utility Companies. If all or part of an interim rate increase that is pending and is rejected by the the State Corporation Commission, utilities must refund collections of the increases to customers.

In the meantime the Utility Companies have agreed that for every 1000 kw hours of electric used our monthly bills will be reduced by approx. $7.00. And in the meantime we have to continue to pay these outrageous monthly bills because a reduction of $7.00 is not going to cut it. Currently our Kentucky Utilities Bill does not show how much we pay for 1 (one) kw hour of power used. It just shows total kw hours and total charge. These charges also include taxes and a monthly charge of $16.00 just to have the Electric meter on. So if you used no electric at all, you will still have to pay this $16.00. It seem to me that the Utility is stealing from us and getting away with it.

ODP is a part of Kentucky Utilities that is owned by a German Company. We were at War with Germany 1914 thru 1918 and again 1939 thru 1945. And My Point is? Go Figure. Think About it.
