JONESVILLE, Va. — Rev. Maurice David (Bo) Cope, age 58, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Lee County, Va., he was a minister and farmer. He served as the pastor of Beech Grove Baptist Church for 23 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, W.G. and Ocie Moore Cope; a sister, Thelma Hicks; and an infant brother, Billy Wayne Cope.

Surviving are, his wife of 38 years, Sherry Cope of Jonesville; two sons, Kelly Cope and wife Patty of Jonesville, and Waylon Barber and wife Marti of Jonesville; two daughters, Tracy Cope and Kristy Cope, both of Jonesville; five grandchildren, Amber Milsap, Brianna Clark, Alyssa Clark, Mandi Moore, and Matthew Barber; one brother, Lawrence Cope and wife Wilma of Jonesville; two sisters, Kathy Thomas and husband Kenny of Jonesville, and Julia Wyrick of Jonesville; step-mother, Betty Cope of Jonesville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, a host of close friends and relatives, and a church family that he loved very much.

 The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Beech Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dee Owens and the Rev. Bryant Presley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Snodgass-Minor Cemetery in Jonesville.
