PINEVILLE — Bond for the Middlesboro man charged with killing his son and then reportedly fleeing into Claiborne County has been set at $1 million in Bell County District Court, according to the Circuit Clerk’s Office.

Richard Goodman Sr., 47, appeared before District Court Judge Robert Yoakum on Monday morning.

Goodman pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and domestic violence, in April.

His case will now go before grand jury.

Goodman Sr. allegedly shot his son Richard Goodman Jr., 23, on April 8 at their residence on Parker Lane, according to the Middlesboro Police Department.

The incident was reportedly the result of a domestic dispute.

Goodman was spotted fleeing into Claiborne County through the Cumberland Gap Tunnel and was quickly arrested.
