LOG MOUNTAIN — Kentucky State Police (KSP) officers were swift to the scene yesterday afternoon as a two-vehicle crash sent two individuals to the hospital.

The accident occurred around 4 p.m. on U.S. Highway 25-E, directly in front of Bell County High School, temporarily interrupting the flow of northbound traffic.

KSP Trooper Keith Baker handled the accident on Wednesday afternoon. He reported that a Chevrolet Astro Van — headed southbound on Hwy. 25-E — crashed into a Chevrolet Cobalt LT, causing the driver of the Cobalt to lose control of the vehicle. Baker said that the Cobalt then veered into the median and flipped onto its top.

According to Baker, two individuals were taken to Pineville Community Hospital (PCH) but he could not release the names of those injured at that time.

On scene, Baker said that he was going to the hospital after the scene was completely cleared to further speak with those involved, and to obtain full details of the accident.

The Bell County EMS, Sheriff’s Department and Volunteer Fire Department were also on scene to assist.
